Congregational Life
At Jonesborough Presbyterian, relationships matter. This ministry nurtures fellowship, connection, and mutual support within our welcoming, intergenerational congregation—where the wisdom of experience meets the energy of new beginnings. Some families have worshiped here for decades, while others have only recently found their church home among us. Regardless of background or walk of life, we believe everyone has gifts to share and a role to play in God’s work.
Congregational Life reaches out to potential new members, welcomes newcomers into our community, and provides ongoing care for current members. Whether it’s participating in the Prayer Shawl Ministry, serving on a committee, preparing meals, or joining us for Health and Wellness activities, these connections strengthen our faith and deepen our friendships.
Visit Schedule & Events for event details on all Congregational Life activities outlined below.

New Members
We warmly welcome all who join our church family. Our new member gatherings provide an opportunity to meet others, learn about the life of our congregation, and explore committees or ministries you may wish to be part of. It’s also a time for us to introduce ourselves, share our stories, and answer any questions you may have about our church or denomination.
We invite you to discover the many ways you can connect, serve, and grow through our congregational life:

About:
Our Health & Wellness Ministry is dedicated to nurturing the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Through engaging programs like Lunch & Learn, we gather to share a meal, explore practical life topics, and strengthen our well-being as a community.
From heart health education to guidance on writing a will, from connecting with God through the outdoors to discovering new ways to care for ourselves and others, each event offers tools and inspiration for living well.
Rooted in our belief that caring for our health is part of honoring God’s gift of life, we create opportunities for fellowship, learning, and encouragement—helping one another thrive in every season.
Happenings:
Health & Wellness meets quarterly on the second Wednesday of the month at noon. Health & Wellness gatherings have concluded for 2025 and we look forward to hosting new programs in 2026!
Meal Train
When life brings challenges, such as illness, recovery from surgery, the arrival of a new baby, or other difficult times, our Meal Train Ministry is here to help. We coordinate home-cooked meals and deliveries to offer nourishment, comfort, and a reminder that no one walks alone.
Through the generosity of our church family, we provide practical support and share God’s love in a tangible way. Each meal is an act of care, a gesture of fellowship, and a way to lighten the load during times of need.
If you or someone you know could benefit from the Meal Train, contact: Susan Hagar at 562-714-4766.

“Part of the journey of prayer and faith is to recognize that we may never knowhow our love and care will touch or change another person’s life. Instead, we are invited to offer others our compassion and let whatever needs to happen, happen.” See the picture above for samples of our work.
